Ok, is there a trick out there for high B and E string intonation at the saddle? I once watched Charlie Hoffman make a saddle for a guitar he was setting up, and it looked so easy there was something perverse about it...I just always seem to have trouble with those two strings...right now I'm thinking of filing a flat across the top of the saddle at the B and E location, then using a piece of guitar string to slide fore and aft under the strings to locate the break spot of the string(s)...then mark with X-acto, and file to the line? What do you folks in the know think? Thanks, Larry.

Hi L.,
I use a stewmac saddle intonator to get my points. I install Buzz Feiten Tunning System on all my guitars so that device realy helps me determine where my saddle slot is going to locate. Then depending on the guitar and customer I either build a ledge or two onto the saddle blank itself (with more bone) so that it intonates properly. Sometimes I just use a thicker saddle blank and then I don't need to build/add on. ime consummimg and sometimes tedious work but well worth it!
